Just a few minutes ago at one of my favorite cafes, Starbucks, I heard something that resonated with my inner tuning forks.

All I wanted was some more coffee, and here was this guy who interrupted my flight-pattern with four simple words. “Thanks for the up-sell.”

WHAT?

Who says that to a barista in Starbucks? Now, even though Sarah is one of the cooler, more fantastic members of the Coffee Conglomerate that you can find, I thought this a bit odd.

There were not too many phrases I could choose from to be sure of
what I just thought I heard. This was not one of those things where I
thought I heard

I was baking honey squares…” or

I was raking bunny hairs…” when really what was said is

I was making money there…”

No. This guy very clearly said “Thanks for the up-sell.”
So after the initial stun of hearing this I decided to ask if this was
what was really going on. After all, this guy must be doing something
similar to me for such a phrase to resonate so powerfully with me.

Standing in the line in front of me, was a man with a powerful and
confident presence completing his order. I wondered out loud “Excuse me, did you just say ‘thanks for the up-sell?’ ”

Very soon after that, I was drawn into the world of “The Sicilian Mentor“, Maurice DiMino!

In the very short time frame of *373.0* seconds, we talked about how fast-food restaurants make millions with the “up-sell; The Glazer-Kennedy Insider’s Circle of which I am a member and where he just spoke in Pasadena; the National Speakers Association, about my business in marketing and writing; and about Internet and Information-Marketing!

Believe it or not, we actually connected on a whole lot more than these few things that I wrote. That is the Power of a Question!

It turns out that Maurice DiMino is active as a Speaker, Author and Coach. What a coincidence that I happen to enjoy these activities as a professional as well.

The simple fact is that we both shared a common language. Maybe even a technical and specialized language for people who are expert in communication, marketing, speaking and are success oriented. But still it was a shared experience created by a common factor of progressive thinking.

I can definitely relate to Maurice’s communication. For example he spoke about how “The Money is in the Message“. And on his “QUOTE CARD“, not to be mistaken with a business card, also reads

Even Pebbles make Mountains

Speak from your Heart

Applied Knowledge is Supreme

It doesn’t exist until you write it down

Very deeply penetrating quotes for sure. The ideas contained in them are clearly recognizable to anyone in the game of personal development and all things that are really awesome and cool in the realm of effective and valuable communication that changes lives.

The main value to be gained from all of this is that a powerful
connection was made just by the simple act of asking a question when I
heard something that keyed-in to an important part of my world.

In the world that I love to share, I live a dream-life of my own design in which I am free to uplift and inspire people through words, music, movement, and other forms of communication.

And I am sure just from Maurice DiMino’s quotes, and from how he
interacted with me today, this is part of his mission in life as well.

In the mix of it all, when you are moving about in life, pay
attention. You never know what kinds of really cool people you are going
to meet and make connections with.

Resonance and the Power of a Question

And as Dan Kennedy writes in his book No B.S. Wealth Attraction for Entrepreneurs, “This is even BiblicalAsk and ye shall receive.

So, I have just had a wonderful experience just because of being appreciative of life and all the amazing people I share the world with. I am always grateful for the “little things”.

This is just positive proof that we can all Make the Most out of Our
