The People Are More Important Than The President: How To Avoid Another Boston Terror

How To Avoid Another Boston Terror

The People Are More Important Than The President

I do not have to remind many of you reader that there was recently some cowardly act of terror at the marathon in Boston recently.

What you may not have thought of is the fact that this terrible event could have easily been prevented from happening with just a small bit of not so innovative thinking.

Of course someone would argue the cost of such a preventative measure and tell me about all the resources it would require.

But what about those 2 adults and that 1 child that were killed? What about the injuries and emotional trauma to the people who were also in the blast radius?

Are their lives not worth the extra cost and effort? Why should they not be as important as The President of the United States of America? or any world leader for that matter?

Well their lives are not less important. And I bet by now you are wondering just what the heck I am talking about and what this has anything to do with Barack Obama.

Well, it is not President Obama specifically.

It could be any world leader.

But what I am referring to in this case is the fact that it is very difficult in the United States to carry out a successful attack on the President.

Sure people can plot all they want. But since that whole deal with former President Reagan it has been way off limits for anyone to get near an American President in that way.

There is top notch security at every outing and meeting. Locations are scouted and staked out days, weeks and months before the President is to appear anywhere.

And there are alternate locations, escape route, highly trained Special Forces, Secret Service and other Security Personal ready to prevent and respond.

Not even to mention all of the back up equipment in protective body armor, armored vehicles, and surveillance equipment, cameras, chemical detection and even trained animals for the job.

Why is all of this expense and all of these resources spared when the American People gather together?

Why are not all the high tech gadgets and highly trained people rolled out at these public events?

I do not wish to give an answer to this question because I do not know the answer. But what I do know is that if these same precautions and safeties would prevent things like what happened in Boston.

Hmmm. What happened in Boston?

Of course  resources would have to be scaled out to consider that there is not just the President and his staff to look out for. But we are the one’s who pay for it all anyway.

The American People are more important than the President. Because we are the one’s who vote and put the President in office. Regardless of what you say about rigged elections and conspiracies.

The People are more important than the President. This country is made by the people, for the people.

If we want to ensure that things like this do not happen to innocent people out enjoying the spring weather and sports, then it is time to beef up our security at these events as if everyone were President.

Maybe everyone does not vote and you might say they should be excluded. But the rights and freedoms in the country are the same for one and all.

It is justified that each and every single living and breathing American Citizen should be considered just as sacred and precious and any other.

We are the one who build this country. Our friends and family go to war for this country to have its rights.

Then they return with PTSD or fewer body parts and even less dignity at times as they are tossed to the streets.

If we want to assure real Homeland Security, then we ought to understand that every single American Citizen is just as important as the American President and protect them the same way when they gather at public events.

But before we can get into all of the technical stuff, this simple agreement must be made so that we know how to avoid another Boston terror type of attack.

Maybe it would even do some good in preventing any attacks during normal working hours like the attacks on September 11th, 2001.

You may argue this as individuals, but collectively this is the case. We must agree, understand and know that the People are more important than the President.
