Other People Can Do It
I’m Not The Only One
“Thou Shalt Not Suffer A Witch To Live” – Exodus 22:18
“It’s me. Me. If I concentrate hard enough, I can move things”. – Carrie.
The opening scene (1976) was a bit erotic. With Carrie soaping herself down in the girl’s locker room. I wasn’t yet born when the film hit. Maybe this is why I liked it so much though.
Yes. This is a screen shot from the 1976 film
But you should know that what happened to her in that locker room is not so uncommon. It would not be too much of a stretch to report that about 77% of school attending youth are bullied daily.
Unfortunately, bullying is so prevalent. I see parents bully their children. Employers bully their workers. Police bully civilians. Powerful nations bully weaker nations.
Plug it up.
Did any of you ever stop to think that Carrie White has feelings?
Do any of you ever stop to think?
They’re all going to laugh at you.
They’re all going to regret they ever did.
Because now I know what I am capable of.
“I’m not the only one. Other people can do it; I read about it.” – Carrie N. White
“86% of students said, “other kids picking on them, making fun of them or
bullying them” causes teenagers to turn to lethal violence in the
Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy”. Columbine was not the worst incident that disturbed youths would retaliate with violence. Some of the most gifted minds may also be the most dangerous.
We do not know everything. But some people will do anything to others. And only regret their behavior when they are caught by the “authorities”. Or when they are caught in the wrath of vengeance…
Why do some think it is pleasure to inflict pain. How do people derive humor, from the humiliation of another? This I will never know. I will never understand why.
That moment when fear, emptiness and despair becomes the fuel for anger.
And then the anger smolders and burns infernal into rage.
It did not have to go this far. It never, ever has to go so far. But most never intervene. Action is taken when it is way too late. When the bully becomes the bullied.
The Beauty Becomes The Beast.
Then, the terrified becomes the terrorist.
The desperation of Love and Insanity. To make the decision that the only way to get up is to tear it all down. To retaliate against the retaliation is often an exercise in futility.
