(Exercising Your Mind) When analyzing numbers, there are many that trail far off to the left and right of the decimal point. Zero, or the idea of nothing is interesting by itself.

Contemplating infinity is just as interesting. No matter how many zeros or whatever number is added to the end of a string of numbers, infinity is never reached.

This unattainable infinitude is fascinating.

Even so, it is helpful to have labels to put things in perspective. Here is a list of numbers from zero (0) to googol for one to marvel. At the thousand mark, the numbers are all multiplied by 1,000 in the positive and the negative.

0 = Zero

10 = Ten 1-zero

100 = One hundred; 2-zeros; 10²

1,000 = One thousand; 3-zeros; 10³

1,000,000 = One million; 6-zeros; 10⁶

1,000,000,000 = One billion; 9-zeros; 10⁹

1,000,000,000,000 = One trillion; 12-zeros; 10¹²

1,000,000,000,000,000 = One quadrillion; 15-zeros; 10¹⁵

Multiply the last line of a One (1) followed by 99-zeros by 10 and you have a Googol; 10¹⁰⁰
