(Exercising Your Mind) Most of my info about Marijuana comes from:
- Americans for Safe Access
- Jack Herer and His books G.R.A.S.S.,The Emporer Wears No Clothes, the documenatry about Herer called The Emporer of Hemp and another film The Hemp Revolution. Many other books and films serve as resources. Of course my own personal enjoyment of weed on and off for the past 13 years is also noteworthy. Supporting marijuana may help to free us of dangerous pharmaceuticals and toxic industrial, environmental and agricultural technologies.
Thomas Jefferson and Dr. Benjamin Rush (who was George Washington’s personal physician and a signer of the Declaration of Independence) both foresaw that the federal government might someday attempt to control medicine.
Dr. Rushgave gave this diagnosis:
Unless we put medical freedom into the Constitution, the time will come when medicine will organize into an underground dictatorship…
To restrict the art of healing to one class of men and deny equal privileges to others will constitute the Bastille of medical science. All such laws are un-American and despotic and have no place in a republic… The Constitution of this republic should make special privilege for medical freedom as well as religious freedom.”
Rush also bled Washington to death pint by pint as per “Heroic Medicine”, and is the “Father of Modern Psychiatry” as his face is part of the American Psychiatric Association’s Emblem. Remember, it is the message, not the messenger in this case that counts.
Thomas Jefferson offered a second opinion:
If people let the government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls who live under tyranny.
Marijuana’s “brother”, Hemp, can save the planet, literally. -And, by not supporting Marijuana / Hemp legalization you are inadvertently supporting the Pharmaceutical Industry and Petro-Chemical companies which are destroying Earth, the planet we live on. -H A-
Marijuana usually refers to the female plant as it generally has more delta-9THC than the males because it is concentrated in the buds which the males lack. There is about the same level of thc in the leaves of bothe the male and female of this dioecious plant.
Racism and politics have contributed largely to the prohibition of marijuana as many indigenous peoples and more nature regarding societies are more accepting of its use. Herer also points to these issues in his book and J.P. Morgan of New York University acknowledges this in The Emporer of Hemp doc. I will add the Big-Pharma connection at the end. I have also included several website addresses for research and verification purposes.
In 1937, the Marijuana Tax Act put an end to Marijuana at the behest of corrupt politicos and media, namely William Randolf Hearst (owner of the largest newspaper syndicate at the time)and Harry J. Anslinger (the U.S.’s 1st Drug Czar).
DuPont Chemicals had just come up with a very toxic method of converting black coal and oil into Plastic and Nylon which before were naturally made without chemicals from Hemp (Marijuana)
Harry Anslinger was the first Drug Czar of the U.S. and his Wife’s Uncle, Andrew W. Mellon was Anslinger’s boss. Mellon was also the banker for DuPont. Coincidence?
This ligno-cellulosic plant (like all plants) has more cellulose than lignon in the husks of its stalks which can be converted to ethanol which race cars use and which people drink for fun in vodka and beer etc. Ethanol happens to be one of the cleanest-burning, liquid-fuels on the planet. Brazil makes ethanol from sugarcane which does not produce nearly as much of the needed cellulose as Hemp per ton, nor is sugarcane as sustainable or grow as quickly.
When ethanol is added to fuel at a mixture of 20 parts ethanol to 80 parts petroleum based fuels, emissions are reduced 45 – 55 percent. You can observe this by lighting up a tablespoon of Bacardi 151 and will have no toxic black smoke compared to the same amount of petro-gas which produces death as evidenced in the 1980’s when many suicidal teens turned on the car in the garage and inhaled.
Since 1937 over half of the worlds trees were cut down to make paper, which before was made from Hemp. Hemp produces a chemical free paper that outlasts all other paper making material by centuries. DuPont’s precess uses Sulfuric Acid compounds to process the paper pulp and is extremely toxic to the Earth. The first draft of the Constitution was written on Hemp paper, the 1st U.S. Flag was made from hemp fiber.
Speaking of fiber, Hemp yields the strongest and longest lasting of its kind in the entire plant kingdom. The sails on 98% of ships was made from Hemp, 99% of all rope was made from Hemp and most clothing.
Cotton farming contributes to 50% of all agricultural pesticides used in the U.S. alone. Marijuana Hemp needs none to grow as it has few insect or animal enemies. It also needs no herbicides either as it grows in a manner that chokes out the life and nutrients from other plants by blocking sunlight.
Non-Toxic paints are made from hemp-seed oils and may be painted on Hemp Canvas; Canvas is simply the Latin word Canavasium; made of Cannabis, and the Canvas covered wagons were made of Cannabis-Hemp.
Speaking of Hemp(Marijuana) Seeds, they are the most nutrient dense in the plant kingdom. Marijuana seeds yield a non-drug, non-toxic combination of all 10 essential amino acids (protein builders) useful for human growth. It also holds plenty of essential fatty acids in the form of Omega-3 and Omega-6 which protect the heart and brain functioning. This means that you could literally live off Hemp-Seeds alone as do many cultures of the world such as in Nepal’s Human Union Movement.
Finally, Marijuana is the safest drug known to the U.S. Pharmacopoeia and the world. D.E.A. Administrative Law Judge Francis Young concluded this in 1988 saying:
The evidence in this record [9-6-88 ruling] clearly shows that marijuana has been accepted as capable of relieving the distress of great numbers of very ill people, and doing so with safety under medical supervision. It would be unreasonable, arbitrary and capricious for DEA to continue to stand between those sufferers and the benefits of this substance in light of the evidence in this record.(9/6/88)
Marijuana smoke and extracts relieve glaucoma sufferers by reducing intraocular pressure in the eyes rendering glaucoma harmless in some, in this way it also improves night vision. It allows cancer and AIDS patients with nausea and vomiting due to Chemo and the disease itself by giving them their appetite back (munchies) and is the safest anti-emetic(against vomiting) remedy known to mankind.
It actually acts as an expectorant removing phlegm and mucous from the lungs and helps asthma patients by opening the bronchial vessels. It is safer than any synthetic, xenobiotic, allopathic “treatment” for hundreds of other conditions and is virtually non-toxic. In other words, contrary to popular belief which has been circulated for the last 69 years by our trustworthy government, it does very little in the way of any damage to the body.
Besides the physiological benefits, Marijuana has recently been shown to alleviate many minor and major “mental illnesses” including anxiety, depression, stress related and nervous disorders, ADD and ADHD and even Bipolar and Schizophrenia. You see, this plant is so illegal (being in the DEA’s most illegal category of Shedule I) because of its many positive uses.
If it were legalized it could, would and should replace over 50% of the currently prescribed pharmaceutical synthetic drugs on the market today. This is a significant threat to Big-Pharma and especially the Psychiatric Industry which accounts for a large amount of the profits made by pharmaceutical giants. Not to mention how it would put many tobacco and alcohol giants in financial peril. In fact, many people who were once drinkers and/or tobacco smokers discover pot, buds, weed, Fat Nugz and turn away from the former two very toxic but legal drugs.
Number of American deaths per year that result directly or primarily from the following selected causes nationwide, according to World Almanacs, Life Insurance Actuarial (death) Rates, and the last 20 years of U.S. Surgeon Generals’ reports.
- TOBACCO 340,000 to 450,000
- ALCOHOL (Not including 50% of all highway deaths and 65% of all murders) 150,000+
- ASPIRIN (Including deliberate overdose) 180 to 1,000+
- CAFFEINE (From stress, ulcers, and triggering irregular heartbeats, etc.) 1,000 to 10,000
- “LEGAL” DRUG OVERDOSE (Deliberate or accidental) from legal, prescribed or patent medicines and/or mixing with alcohol – e.g. Valium/alcohol 14,000 to 27,000
- ILLICIT DRUG OVERDOSE (Deliberate or accidental) from all illegal drugs. 3,800 to 5,200
- MARIJUANA 0
(Marijuana users also have the same or lower incidence of murders and highway deaths and accidents than the general non-marijuana using population as a whole. Crancer Study, UCLA; U.S. Funded ($6 million), First & Second Jamaican Studies, 1968 to 1974; Costa Rican Studies, 1980 to 1982; et al. LOWEST TOXICITY 100% of the studies done at dozens of American universities and research facilities show pot toxicity does not exist. Medical history does not record anyone dying from an overdose of marijuana (UCLA, Harvard, Temple, etc.).
