Slave To The Job: The Hypnotic Abyss

The Hypnotic Abyss

Slave To The Job

“On the occasion of every act ask thyself, How is this with respect to me?
Shall I repent of it?”
– Marcus Aurelius

(Exercising Your Mind) It is such a strange feeling to me having a job. It is very uncomfortable to know that when I get up to go to work, that I have to, in order to earn money.

This is the reason why I have been determined to create a business of my own design that works for me on my terms.

And I do not mean what most people who would go off on their own define as a business.

I am not talking about being self-employed, which is basically owning a job.

Although this is much more preferable to me than working for someone else, it is still not quite the type of freedom that I know is possible.

Because it still equates to trading time for money.

I would rather trade value for money and be paid what I am actually worth while having the time freedom I desire.

Being self employed is great, at least I don’t have some asshole who is frustrated with their life taking out their misery in the form of being pushy and bossy.

Like telling me where I am supposed to be standing on a security post. As if it matters.

The only thing that should matter is getting the job done, not where to fuckin’ stand while on the job – only getting the result I am paid to get should matter.

But that situation of getting paid for results is in the realm of the self–employed, the business owner, and the investor; not for the employee.

Being an employee in many cases for me is like being a slave.

Because when you need the money to live, you do what you are told just so that you can get the stuff that money can buy.

Things like paying your bills and having food to eat, and the essential experience of recreation and personal enrichment and personal development.

But too often people who have jobs do things to escape the harsh reality of slavery by choosing forms of “pass-times” rather than true recreation.

Authentic recreation may be found in the word itself.

It is literally to be a re-creation or a new creation of the self.

It is creating yourself again in a more evolved way than the day, hour, minute and second before.

But how often do we do that?

Pass-times are things like watching television, going to bars and getting drunk, and any other situations that you might find yourself in that do not enrich your life.

It is not recreation. It is in fact a form of destruction and suicide.

I know this because I was a slave to the hypnotic abyss that encouraged this type of unbecoming behavior.

It is actually pandemic to those who are slave to the job.

It is not necessary to think that this applies to all working people who have jobs.

In fact, there are very many people who love their jobs and would do them without pay if they could afford to do so.

I am referring to those of us who are made up of a different kind of thing.

We all have a place and a purpose in life.

We condemn ourselves to slavery when we do not find this place and purpose that we are most happy with, and instead settle just to “make a living”.

Making a living is not usually the same as making a life for many of us.

We know we are enslaved by the way that it feels.

It does not feel good. It feels bad to know we are waking up to do the thing that we call work and a job.

The feeling is that we would rather be doing something else that we enjoy and would be contributing value to the world by doing it.

Certainly jobs provide value or else people would not be paid to do them.

But there are those of us who would rather be providing value in a different kind of way.

And I think very much that we who are working jobs that we would rather not be working are doing a bad service to the world, and to many people.

Why do I state this?

Because we are in the way of those who would love to have, and love to work the jobs that we are working, but do not have it because we have their spot.

Meanwhile we slave away doing it because we feel like we have to just to survive.

And we may not even be doing that good of a job of it either.

We may be working just hard enough not to get fired because we are being paid just enough not to quit.

And doing things in this low spirit energy of necessity and desperation eats at the soul of us and can not truly have us be performing at our optimum.

Someone who really wants the job and would love it, would certainly do a much better job of it because that would be success for them.

“It’s entirely your responsibility to make your dreams come true.” -REWORK

So we need to get out of their way and do the things that we would really love to do, while providing valuable service to our world community.

Which brings me back to the point of us creating a business or a way to attract wealth by doing things we really love to do.

To create a solution for ourselves that we are proud of and that will make the world better while we become richer.

And I know exactly how to do this.

Because it is exactly what I have been working on for years, and have found the exact guidance and training that I require to make it a reality.

It is by focusing on finding a way to share the things that we really enjoy doing with others while making it valuable for them to desire it.

We must solve problems for other people by first solving our own problems.

Solving problems for others is a very valuable skill to have, but only, in my opinion, if we are using the skills that we personally enjoy developing to do so.

This is the creation of actual value for others just by being who we are and making or finding systems that will best deliver this value to them.

But the next step is also important, and may be even more important.

We have to make sure that we find the people who value what we have to offer, and make sure that they know we are able to deliver the service or product to them.

This is the creation of perceived value for others through marketing and promotion of what we have to offer.
