Pills, Prayers; Peace.

Isaac Newton
long ago said “If I have seen far, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants”

It has been this practice of standing “on the shoulders of giants” that has been one of the greatest supplements to my inner searching and private meditations. There is a profound wisdom to be found by knowing ourselves as well as seeking out the strength and guidance of those enlightened beings, who have been so gracious to share the truths they have found with us. This persistent seeking has been a major part of my constantly evolving perspective, and the increased effectiveness of my Spiritual Healing and Physical Training Practice.

Science, Spirituality and material Success may all work synergistically if we open up to this possibility. It is an absolute must to do so if we are to be truly holistic and offer Right Action through Right Livelyhood. So far as I understand and practice, this has assured me of the real meaning of Oneness as the actual state of our existence.

“As the Laws of God are broad, so should we be in dealing with them. In this Science, we believe that man’s life is a drama which takes place on three planes: the physical, the mental, and the spiritual. We should have no objection to any form of healing, for anything that helps to overcome suffering is good, whether it be a pill or a prayer. We believe in any method which produces results, for each has its own place in the Whole”.
Ernest Holmes; “Science of Mind”, 1926, 1938

Difficult life experiences may be handled in a variety of ways. When I once did place limitations on what I regarded as a healing modality, I suffered and perpetuated the suffering of others. I had before been trapped by ego into rigid ideologies, that presumed to impart superior methods to the exclusion of others.

I was competing instead of creating. Because like many others, I was afraid there was not enough to go around. I doubted the eternal abundance of our Universe, and took sides on issues pertaining to my mental and physical health. When I identified with the position I took, it became difficult to separate from it and see the bigger picture. I became partisan, and contributed to a useless resistance instead of being open-minded and exploring what was the best for all. This has thankfully changed as I have prayed and meditated to find Truth.

I now realize that a true integration through all planes of existence, will be much more useful for healing. I understand that there is a delicate interplay and correspondence between my body, mind and spirit. It is important to maintain a balance on all three. Whatever energy prevails on one plane, most certainly creates change in the others.

I do believe that we should have a union of different methods that produce results. One example is that many psychotherapists who would rather not have people being medicated, and would like to heal with “talk therapy”, often agree that pills are needed to stabilize conditions, before they can have any type of meaningful dialogue with some very disturbed patients. They may then recommend that these patients come off the meds later.

Another example comes from Orthomolecular, or, nutritional Psychiatrists and Practitioners, who agree, as I do, with the sentiments of Eric Paterson, MB, ChB, as stated in “Masks of Madness, 1998” who says: “…that doesn’t mean I don’t use the standard medications, of course I do, they’re useful; but I don’t pretend that they are the be all and end all that we’re supposed to believe. No, thats just a sort of little crutch while orthomolecular treatment is starting to work.”

The most significant problem to overcome with the marriage of seemingly opposing healing modalities, is that many of the agendas on different sides of this issue are motivated only by personal gain and money. Desiring abundance is in itself  may be a very good thing. It is natural and is simply the God in you seeking self-expression. However, when there is no desire to benefit all whom it effects, and there is only selfish desire for personal gain, we all lose.

Wallace D. Wattles says this much in “The Science of Getting Rich”, 1906: “It is the desire of God that you should get rich. He wants you to get rich because He can express Himself better through you if you have plenty of things to use in giving Him expression. He can live more in you if you have unlimited command of the means of life.” Wattles goes on to say “It is essential, however, that your purpose should harmonize with the purpose that is in All”.

Mike Adams, “The Health Ranger”, editor of www.NaturalNews.com puts it this way in his newly released “The 7 Principles of Mindful Wealth”: Principle #2: Money is not evil. The way money is EARNED and SPENT is good or evil, depending on the ethics applied to it.

There is an energetic residue if you will, that goes into the creation of any service or product. Prayer is certainly effected by the sincerity and faith that goes along with it. In the same way, when pills or medication and even food are produced, there may be an energetic benefit or contamination in the final product. Therefore, it is of ultimate importance that we put the most loving and best possible energies into the creation of any products or service we may be offering, especially when healing modalities are involved.

Anything that helps to overcome suffering is good indeed. We should continue to make certain we have available all means of seeing more happiness, health and wealth on our planet Earth and beyond. This definitely means that we must integrate and unite in a joyful spirit of harmony. There is no more room for segregation and ego based quarreling, which slows progressive energies from inevitably unfolding due to selfishness.

There is a magnificent peace on the way right now. Revolution is current and flowing naturally for the better of all. We must welcome change and accept what is working and discard the rest. We must realize that there is certainly enough to go around. If some would like to specialize and work one area -more power to them, they should be left to work their magic in that particular specialty. We need specialists to focus their energy to do the best possible job, and as they combine with other specialists in other fields, the collective whole will be splendidly more than the sum of its parts, than had they tried to do it all alone.

The great “giant” Ernest Holmes sums this up best in Science of Mind when he states: “We leave the field of materia medica to do its own work. Our work is done entirely in the field of mind. Without controversy, we work side by side with any doctor the patient may desire–we, in the field of mind, the physician in his own field. If this is persisted in over a period of years, the two fields will be brought closer together. This will be one of the greatest steps ever undertaken in the curative art”.

Whether we use pills, prayer, or some integration of these, let us do so in a unified spirit of true harmony and peace, which is the key to all true healing for our individual bodies, of all beings and the Earth.
