Praise for Psychiatry, Scientology, all Science and Religion
(Exercising Your Mind) I have seen the folly of taking sides and premature criticism. Many personal experiences of mine have led me to move towards "The Middle Path" as the Buddha taught. I no longer find it useful to use my intellect, activities or other resources, spiritual or otherwise to place blame or point fingers for the apparent shortcomings of human existence.
Instead I will use my time in much more wise endeavors. I must seek the best in all and highlight these things instead of fault-finding. My creative energies will be much more appreciated only engaging in transactions that benefit all whom it effects. I truly have understanding now more than ever, the meaning of "what you resist persists".
If you are into reading scientific research papers as I am, you have realized that you can find almost any document in favor of, or, against any theory or experimental findings. Likewise, in religion and philosophy, your search and personal experience will yield information that supports or detracts from whatever ideology you may be exploring.
I am continually finding truth and utility no matter where I look. All disciplines that I undertake to investigate have their fair share of wonderful applications and marvels as well as horrors. It makes no difference what the source of the information is, there is something of use that may be applied to my life and to others, for the better.
Without psychiatry, we would not have many of the profound discoveries that have been made in neural science and brain studies. We would not have the very effective drugs used to subdue and sedate out of control patients who are a danger to themselves or others.
Scientology offers us a healthy dose of skepticism, and some fringe ideologies, that stretch the imagination and cause one to ponder the boldness of the human spirit that cries for freedom, expression and attention.
Much of the scientific findings now centuries old and those of today are astounding, and give us the hope of health and abundance beyond what we have dreamed possible before these amazing discoveries.
Many religions are opening up our understanding of the same mysteries from a different perspective, perhaps guiding our use of the new inventions and discoveries in more humane and ethical ways.
There is no monopoly on the truth of course. Just as many Theoretical Quantum Physicists are working with Metaphysicists and religious experts to find common ground, so should all of us be seeking to integrate and merge these seemingly different paths. There is much more to be gained for all of humanity through combined efforts and teamwork than from segregating practices and close-minded beliefs.
All of this ego-based quarreling and separatist behavior does not help progress and stagnates enlightenment. It is long overdue to move past these immature and uninspiring disputes. No one group or individual is holding the ultimate key to our evolution or awakening. There are golden keys to be found all over. Making enemies and alienating each-other simply frustrates our inevitable progression.
I am of the hope and understanding that a common ground may be reached. The work has already been started by a few, like the scientists featured in films like"What the Bleep Do We Know", "The Elegant Universe" and "The Secret" to name a few. These frontier-scientists and revolutionary philosophers offer us a fresh perspective and motivation to unite.
I have seen in myself the potential to linger in a static frenzy of "conspiracy theories", as well as the seed of faith and inspiring hope that would move mountains. I now aim to balance more carefully the subjective with the objective. I seek the Truth however it may be found. Whatever I may do to clear a path the deliverance of Truth; so be it.
I long for a positive change in our world, and it is that change I dedicate myself to be.
