Healthy Living and Self-Defense Foundations of Exercise Physiology: Alignment. Breathing. Concentration.

(Exercising Your Mind) In order to conduct the most safe and effective exercises possible, I have utilized a Quantum Hypnosis (QH) Modality for successful and confident procedure. The QH Modality here used is a mnemonic device, as are most QH Modes, based on acronyms and acrostics. This particular one utilizes the first 9 letters of the Alphabet. I looked for and found a most elegant and excellent set of variables with which to guide my Self-Certified Private Practice (SCPP) concerning Exercise Physiology. Although there are many points to consider, these foundations may be used to carefully construct a most workable framework to successfully build any fitness program upon.

Use the Mantra or word-list A through I, to get results as I do consistently. This is a method for optimizing and integrating several different disciplines and activities in a simple format. This consists of my basic thought process, regarding the subject of proper structural alignment and posture for fitness, martial arts, meditation and general health.

In order for the Integration of healthy galvanism or metabolism, you must move with a Deliberate Energetic Flow that proceeds from Concentrating on Breathing and Alignment.

ABC of this word-list is a supplement that I use to structure and assess the safety and other qualities of any tactical movement or exercise.

Concentrating on specific Breathing patterns and Alignment positions, in a uniform manner, will render results consistent with those parameters of Alignment and Breathing that are Concentrated upon. You may know exactly your results by taking the time to simply write about these specifics in some type of journal, during and after careful subjective observation. It follows that when you alter this uniformity in process, you will change the result.

Simply studying the definitions of the words in this “list” from a few good dictionaries, has certainly been a practical enhancement, when practicing and applying techniques or movements. I started applying this more enthusiastically when an English 101 Professor, Stark, reminded me of the work of Peter Mark Roget. We get Roget’s Thesaurus from him. Stark told the class one day about how Roget found that one could gain favorable expertise and familiarity, with many activities and professions, by simply mastering the definitions of words pertaining to the subjects of concern. The original work he published on this matter was called Thesaurus of English Words and Phrases Classified and Arranged so as to Facilitate the Expression of Ideas and Assist in Literary Composition; 1852.

In 1906, Carl Gustav Jung published a work called “Studies in Word Analysis“, which is very similar to the Thesaurus principle. A personal development guru named Jim Rohn once stated, that the dictionary is the most powerful book in the world; even more so than the Holy Bible. Even when you read a Bible or any book, it is most prudent to keep a dictionary close by so as to gain a most thorough comprehension of the subject matter.

L. Ron. Hubbard created “Word Clearing Technology”, which is also very similar to the ideas of Jung, Roget and Rohn. To oversimplify one of his examples, I ask you; Why would a crepuscule make children quiet upon arrival, and lively at its departure? -If you don’t know, it may be because of not knowing or understanding the definition of the word crepuscule, an obscure word which definition will follow at the bottom of this essay. This is why vocabulary is so tantamount in school for every subject or specialty you encounter.

Alignment, Breathing and Concentration, are the Foundations that guide my activities through a Deliberate, Energetic Flow; which results in Galvanic Health Integration. The following may be used as a Mantra.

When you focus on these foundations of Alignment, Breathing and Concentration, your fitness or other exercise programs are sure to be effective, and most importantly, safe. All activities that I currently pursue are structured on this framework with fantastic results. These activities include, Boxing, Wrestling, Capoeira, Yoga, Pilates and others.

Alignment pertains to the position of the head, neck and spine and other limbs and joints. “Proper” positioning is relative to the goal of the exercise, and movements must be calculated according to that premise. The Alignment, or mis-alignment of your body may also significantly effect the manner in which you breathe.

Breathing is also relative. A good guideline however is to do it deeply and often, as it is vital even when not training. Think of a tube of toothpaste, when “properly” squeezed and rolled up from the bottom, the paste exits the tube from its mouth if the cap is off. Likewise, when your body folds, or is otherwise curling up, as in an abdominal crunch or when bending over to touch your toes, you would usually breath outward from nose or mouth, to avoid over-pressurizing the internal-organ system located in your thorax or torso. Breathing, in turn, greatly effects your ability to Concentrate.

Concentration is vital to many activities for more than safety. -Start a car, somehow wedge the gas down, and put it in drive in an open area without a driver or other controls. You many not catch the car if you tried and it most likely will crash or run into a ditch. To “get somewhere” or achieve something specific, you must concentrate or drive the vehicle which is your body, to its destination.

Deliberate, Energetic Flow is the direct product of Concentrating on specific Breathing and Alignment patterns. In other words, the ABCs produce an intentional direction and frequency to your physical activity.

Galvanic Health Integration is the electrical, metabolic, and caloric energy naturally stimulated through these exercises, leading to enhanced ability to “do work” efficiently within your physical system, thermodynamically.

Once again; when you Concentrate on your Breathing and Alignment, your workout will proceed as a Deliberate Energetic Flow, and result in Galvanic Health Integration when practiced consistently over time. Change your Foundations and change your results.
